A movie about nothing

I used to wonder how script writers might be coming up with movie scripts. Some of them would have a message to give, some would have a drama to depict, some may just want to entertain people for a couple of hours while some would want to leave an impact. Each could have a different motive. But what if someone wants to just make a movie about nothing?

I mean, it seems like a bizarre idea. A movie about nothing. May be movie with certain characters whose life is as slow as an ordinary person and the whole two hours nothing really "happens". There is no theft, no robbery, no revenges or mystery. Isn't it a difficult task? There could be so many problems in making such a movie. Firstly, what will exactly happen in the movie? How long really would such a movie be? And who on earth will like to watch such a movie and most of all which distributors will buy it even if finally made?

But there is a movie like this that I know. Its a movie about nothing, really. And it has managed to overcome all difficulties that could have come along the way of making such a movie. It has just two characters walking down the European streets. All through 80 minutes talking to each other. Movie is called Before Sunset (A sequel to Before Sunrise). And it is a master piece. It entertains you, makes you think, moves you. You have to see it to believe it. They are shown to be two characters which just click and can talk for hours together. But they only have 80 minutes. They are not in a hurry. But at the same time they are full of enthusiasm about talking to each other. While watching the movie you stop realizing that, there is actually a camera in front of the two performers. You feel as if you are in person with them, listening to them. And you really never want to interrupt them, its so much pleasure to just listen.

I would highly recommend the movie to all movie lovers.

Her.

Did I mention that I am a lawyer? I passed with pretty good grades and was hired by a small private law firm. My boss happens to be a very professional person. Also very famous for the criminal cases. What he sublets his assistants are simply cases of divorce. I have handled as many divorce cases as I have attended marriages. I come to believe that, it all adds up to zero. If I was slightly less optimistic I would never have gotten married. I was late for my work. My friend once told me that he works in a firm where he doesn't have to reach on a certain time. The work environment is so good that it hardly matters as long as you are giving enough work output. He was amazed to know that I take same train every morning to reach office at the same time. I am not a very disciplined guy or anything. But I hate missing my work timings. In any case, the days on which I am late, the only thing I feel bad about is I don't get to see her. I have never spoken to her in my life. But her app...

Slumdog Millionaire, what's the fuss all about?

I saw the movie a few days ago. I really don't understand: why so much fuss? If an Indian director makes a fully filmy hindi movie, no one gives a damn about it. But some non-indian comes and makes this movie and people are going all ga ga about it. A.R. Rehman has given music better than "jai ho". Anil Kapur has done roles better than this. This movie has set new records in making a big deal out of a not-so-amazing movie. I say this because, even a huge fuss has been made about why there is so much fuss about this movie. That is like the second order fuss about the movie! And here, I am making the third order fuss with a huge lot accompanying me in doing so. To start the tirade-- The main guy is such a put off! He has a unique expression on his face, indicating he really has no clue what people are talking about. You are supposed to be poor, not dumb for god's sake! Even some of the witty lines are lost due to his dialog delivery. For example, when one police man say...
