Survey

I recently got a critic that my blog has become a movie blog. And I have taken it very very seriously. Aa ha!! And as you would see, I will henceforth make sure such comments never come this blog's way. Far from it!!..

So question is, its like a survey, what among the following can make maximum impact on your life, your way of thinking and your perception of the world:

books, movies, interactions and social life, loss or gain of a relations, news papers, teachers, schooling and bringing up (parents and family etc), music, profession...

The impact each of them can create, does change with the age. At 16 probably what changed your personality may be far different from what can make you think now. There are more things one can list down here. But above could be few things that have made impact on me.

But above mentioned things are really a mixed bag. And I give a clear preferance to few over the others in the following sense: It could be very natural that, the things that happen specific to your life affect you. Like losing a parent when you are 5 years old or landing in a totally wrong profession and realising it at the age of 35. Its pretty much natural to get affected by these. Essentially to say that, your own life is meant to teach you things and change you. But if a book, or a music piece or movie or a peice of news in a news paper changes your whole life, then really the credit goes to the people who created the art. Just writing a poem and changing the whole country's way of thinking, or creating a magical symphony and making lifes of people move along with it. Thats something exceptional. For years I felt that media can never affect me. I would read or listen for fun of it. But I was so wrong. Today I rate the above mentioned things in the following order of importance on the scale of 1-10.

1. books 7
2. movies (here comes the repeated theme...but ...) 8 (there only are a couple which make the impact but yes, 8)
3. interactions and social life 4
4. loss or gain of a relations 6
5. news papers 3
6. teachers 6
7. schooling and bringing up (parents and family etc) 7
8. music 7
9. profession 6

Valentine's special

its a love story of two strange people who never knew they could fall for each other when they first met they only ended up fighting but slowy it became clear to them that they sure shared something a small problem happened when pride overtook him he thought she was less smarter than him she would solve a puzzle and he would solve it again he would tell her that she was simply an idea away from him... he said that he always gets this idea and then he does all that she can and probably much more... one day she decided his behaviour had to be checked she thought for a while and then she said... fine, then you sure can do everything but if you are strictly more smart you have to do the following think of some puzzle that you can easily do and then give it to me to solve and lets see if i can't do.... all the king's men and all the king's horses could not come up with a puzzle like this the duo got closer and the world around more curious today as it stands the puzzle is still ...

Her.

Did I mention that I am a lawyer? I passed with pretty good grades and was hired by a small private law firm. My boss happens to be a very professional person. Also very famous for the criminal cases. What he sublets his assistants are simply cases of divorce. I have handled as many divorce cases as I have attended marriages. I come to believe that, it all adds up to zero. If I was slightly less optimistic I would never have gotten married. I was late for my work. My friend once told me that he works in a firm where he doesn't have to reach on a certain time. The work environment is so good that it hardly matters as long as you are giving enough work output. He was amazed to know that I take same train every morning to reach office at the same time. I am not a very disciplined guy or anything. But I hate missing my work timings. In any case, the days on which I am late, the only thing I feel bad about is I don't get to see her. I have never spoken to her in my life. But her app...

Slumdog Millionaire, what's the fuss all about?

I saw the movie a few days ago. I really don't understand: why so much fuss? If an Indian director makes a fully filmy hindi movie, no one gives a damn about it. But some non-indian comes and makes this movie and people are going all ga ga about it. A.R. Rehman has given music better than "jai ho". Anil Kapur has done roles better than this. This movie has set new records in making a big deal out of a not-so-amazing movie. I say this because, even a huge fuss has been made about why there is so much fuss about this movie. That is like the second order fuss about the movie! And here, I am making the third order fuss with a huge lot accompanying me in doing so. To start the tirade-- The main guy is such a put off! He has a unique expression on his face, indicating he really has no clue what people are talking about. You are supposed to be poor, not dumb for god's sake! Even some of the witty lines are lost due to his dialog delivery. For example, when one police man say...
