There was a movie called Office Space. Quiet a nice movie where there is a funny character. He has an idea for making million dollars. He says he would sell a mat which will have various "conclusions" written on it and when spread out on the ground people could jump to conclusions! Though literal jump like this to conclusions may not be too harmful, in true sense a jump to conclusions (even well-thought conclusions) might really shake the grounds.
What I wish to say is the following: Today whatever I stand by, I find it wrong tomorrow. This transition may seem extremely absurd. To reason it out may be impossible. The more I feel strongly today, the more I am likely to suffer a disillusion as nothing really is a absolute truth or otherwise, nothing really is absolutely right or wrong. When today I beleive that I stand by something it just means that I assert certain things to be true/right/justified/appropriate. But what if nothing is really true/right/justified/appropriate? What then? What if what you stand by is never going to be true like all other things? What if behind every belief theres going to be a disillusionment. What is the way out? What if I decide to not be opinionated today? Isn't that a simple self-preservation trick? What if I say, well I don't wish to take sides? But how far can I go on seeing things and experiencing them without forming any opinions?
I saw the movie a few days ago. I really don't understand: why so much fuss? If an Indian director makes a fully filmy hindi movie, no one gives a damn about it. But some non-indian comes and makes this movie and people are going all ga ga about it. A.R. Rehman has given music better than "jai ho". Anil Kapur has done roles better than this. This movie has set new records in making a big deal out of a not-so-amazing movie. I say this because, even a huge fuss has been made about why there is so much fuss about this movie. That is like the second order fuss about the movie! And here, I am making the third order fuss with a huge lot accompanying me in doing so. To start the tirade-- The main guy is such a put off! He has a unique expression on his face, indicating he really has no clue what people are talking about. You are supposed to be poor, not dumb for god's sake! Even some of the witty lines are lost due to his dialog delivery. For example, when one police man say...
